If you are interested in the field of education, there are numerous different types of degrees that you will be able to get. Education Administration Degree - This type of degree has the most potential for advancement, second only to a Doctorate. If you would like to manage your own school or you just want more opportunities for advancement, this is the type of degree to seek. Pay scales for administrators are usually quite higher than regular teachers, but the downside is that positions are harder to find.

Doctorate in Education - This degree has the most earning potential and can secure you a position with a prestigious school. You'll be learning many aspects of teaching, from creating course materials to writing books as well as actual classroom teaching techniques. For those that would like to teach at a college level, this is usually the best degree to seek.

Masters of Special Education Degree - There are many opportunities available for those that get their Master's Degree is special education. This is an incredibly rewarding field, and you'll be learning many different teaching techniques. Openings are usually varied by state, but the pay is a bit higher for this type of work.

Masters of Education Degree - If you are not quite certain where you would like to teach, but you want to have that potential for advancement, a Masters Degree in Education is a wise choice. Whether you are interested in elementary education or higher levels, you'll have a lot of versatility and earning potential with this type of degree.
